1956:

Deer Park opens (founded by Roger Jourden).  Animals at the park include llamas, deer, monkeys, chickens, ducks, and Storybook Lane.


1958:

Alan Hershell 16 gauge Train opens.


1972:

Tilt-a-Whirl opens.

 Merry-go-Round opens.

Ferris Wheel opens.
 


1975:

Scrambler opens.
 


1976:

Spider opens.

Mutley’s Putt Putts open (14 August).

Kiddie Cars open.

Motorcycles open.
 


1978:

WTRU Family Reunion sets highest attendance record to-date (September 16 and 17).
 


1979:

Corkscrew opens.
 


1983:

Logger’s Run opens.

Airplanes open (August).

Elephants open (August).

Mini Enterprise opens.

 


1985:

Richard A. Francis is born on June 9th at the park.
 


1987:

Sea Dragon opens.

CP Hunnington Train opens.
 


1988:

Name changed to Michigan’s Adventure.

New entrance opens on present day location of Mad Mouse.

Wolverine Wildcat opens (May 18)

Thunderbolt Opens.

Final season for Ferris Wheel.

 


1989:

Falling Star opens.

Giant Gondola Wheel opens.

Trabant opens.
 


1990:

WildWater Adventure opens including Cyclone Zone, Slidewinders, Surge Pool, Half Pint Paradise, Wild Slide and Ridge Rider (11 August).

Boardwalk Arcade opens.

Waterpark Store opens.

Water Pizza Stand opens.

Final season for Merry-Go-Round.
 


1991:

Carousel opens.

Ski Show opens.

Final season for Ski Show.


1992:

Flying Trapeze opens.
 


1993:

Mammoth River opens.

Final Season for CP Hunnington Train.
 


1994:

Construction on Shivering Timbers begins.

Strong winds blow over Shivering Timbers lift hill.

Shivering Timbers opens (May 23).

Red Zone Game opens.

Fast Ball Game opens.

Final season for General Store.

Wind storm destroys Mutley's Putt Putts.

Michigan's Adventure announces a new entrance will open on former location of Mutley's Putt Putts.


1999:

5-year expansion program is announced (April 13).

New ticket system is introduced.

Mini Enterprise moved next to Zach’s Zoomer.

Scrambler moved next to Mad Mouse.

Big Dipper opens (July 10).

Mad Mouse opens (August 7).

Frog Hopper opens (August 19).

New entrance opens.

Big Dipper Store opens.


2000:

Speed Splashers opens (June 10).

Frog Frenzy Game relocated to new building near Big Dipper from Boardwalk Arcade.

Quarter Pitch opens.

Tweety Game opens.

Construction on Be-Bop Blvd begins.


2001:

Royal Hannerford Circus opens.

Cedar Fair L.P. purchases Michigan’s Adventure for $28 million (June 1).

Water Fun Game opens.

Chaos crashes, sending 31 riders to local hospitals.

Camille Jourden-Mark appointed General Manager.

Final season for Royal Hannerford Circus.

Final season for Picky's Arcade.

Final season for Big Dipper Store.

Logo changed to include Snoopy.

Corkscrew is painted orange, teal, and yellow (November 10).


2002:

Michigan’s Adventure opens for its 36th season (May 23).

RipCord opens.

Peanuts characters introduced.

Hydroblaster opens.

Dodgems open.

Timbertown Railway opens.

Thunderbolt relocated to hole left by Chaos.

Michigan’s Adventure Race Park introduced, including Go-Karts & Jr. Go-Karts.

On-ride photos are introduced to Shivering Timbers.

Snoopy Boutique opens.

Beach Bites opens.

Peppermint Patty's Candy Shop opens.

Be-Bop Blvd opens.

Slogan changed to "Fun Squared"

Charicatures introduced.

Dippin’ Dots introduced.

Electric Lemonade introduced.

Family Grill opens.

Mary Lynn’s Group Catering Pavilion opens.

Trees, shrubs and gardens become visible.

Construction on new parking setup begins.


2003:

Michigan's Adventure opens for its 37th season (May 23).

New parking booths appear.

Tunnel installed on Timbertown Railway.

Wildwater Outfitters opens.

Sandbox area near Jolly Roger Pirate Ship opens.

First annual Season Passholder Appreciation Day is held.
 


2005:

Funnel of Fear (Proslide Tornado) is added in WildWater Adventure.

Admission this year is $23.00.  Parking is $7.00.
